Craig Read

Craig Read

Craig Read grew up a mile west of Conquest, Saskatchewan, in the R.M. of Fertile Valley, in west central Saskatchewan.

Growing up, his family operated a mixed farm operations, raising cattle, hogs and chickens, while growing grains such as wheat, oats and barley. His parents still run the farm, though over the years, they've downsized to cattle and grain.

Craig likes to get home and help out when he can, whether its fixing fence, driving the grain truck, or running a skidsteer. Just keep the tow chains handy, because if there's a new and exciting way to get a tractor stuck, he'll find it!

After graduating from Western Academy Broadcasting College in the spring of 2006, Craig interned in the GX94 newsroom, and never left. After several years as reporter and afternoon news anchor on GX94, since November of 2011, he's been waking up before the roosters, as the morning news anchor and co-host on 94.1 Cruz FM in Yorkton.
