Some sad news in the prairie agriculture industry, as Mazergroup announced on its social media channels that President and CEO Robert (Bob) Mazer died Sunday, July 6th, following a brief battle with cancer.
The post described Bob Mazer as a "true industry pioneer," saying that he began farming when he was 17 years old, before joining his father at the family agriculture equipment dealership in Brandon, Manitoba.
It was noted that over time, guided by Bob's "vision for exceptional customer service, strong communities and a dedicated team," the business grew and evolved into what is now known as Mazergroup, with 18 locations across Manitoba and Saskatchewan, including Yorkton, Swan River, Roblin, Raymore, Moosomin Regina, Brandon and Dauphin.
The post also notes Bob Mazer's commitment to the community, and his contributions to local organizations and initiatives.
In 1998, Bob was named Brandon's "Businessperson of the Year," for his leadership and service, and he was also a 2025 inductee into the Farm Equipment Dealership Hall of Fame.
As well, last year, Mazergroup was honoured as "Dealership of the Year."
The company says Mazer will be "profoundly missed" by his family, friends, customers, colleagues and the entire Mazergroup team.
