506 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 353 recoveries

There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 627.

There are 506 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 14, 2021. That is a new one-day high, eclipsing the mark set yesterday.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (97), North Central (74), North West (64), Far North East (64), Regina (45), North East (25), South East (22), Central East (21), South Central (17), Far North West (12), South West (12), Central West (8), and Far North Central (4).

Twelve of the 17 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Forty-one cases are pending residence information.

Under one-third (32.2 per cent) of new cases are in the 19 years and under age category.

According to the government, of the new cases reported today, 426 were not vaccinated, 22 were partially vaccinated, and 58 were fully vaccinated. The 426 unvaccinated individuals includes 101 kids between the ages of 0-11. The province is now providing this information on the dashboard.

Twenty-five cases with pending residence information were reassigned to the North West (8), Far North West (5), Far North East (4), South West (4), North Central (2), Central West (1), and South Central (1) zones.

Two Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province have been added to the case counts in the South West zone.

There are now 59,673 reported cases, including 3,929 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 406 (33.7 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,461 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,196), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 665 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,503,385.

There are 225 people in hospital. One hundred and eighty-two people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (71), North Central (36), North West (27), Regina (17), Far North West (7), North East (7), South Central (5), Central East (4), South East (4), and South West (4). Forty-three people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Regina (8), North Central (7), North West (3), South West (2), Central East (2), and South Central (1).

Of the 225 patients, 170 (75.6 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Three hundred and fifty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 55,117 recoveries.

There were 4,294 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,070,344 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
