420 new COVID-19 cases, 3 deaths reported, 263 recoveries

There are three new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 621.

There are 420 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 12, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (146), North Central (65), North West (46), Far North East (28), North East (26), Regina (24), Central East (17), Central West (14), South East (13), South West (9), Far North West (7), and South Central (7).

Five of the seven new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Eighteen cases are pending residence information.

Over one-third (35.5 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

According to the government, of the new cases reported today, 322 were not vaccinated, 28 were partially vaccinated, and 70 were fully vaccinated.

Two Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province were added to the Far North West (1) and Saskatoon (1) zones.

Thirteen previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North East (4), North West (3), Central West (2), Regina (2), Far North West (1), and North Central (1)  zones.

There are now 58,715 reported cases, including 3,744 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 369 (30.6 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,461 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,196), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,517 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,501,226.

There are 198 people in hospital. One hundred and fifty-three people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (64), North Central (34), North West (20), Regina (10), North East (5), South East (5), Far North West (4), Central East (4), South Central (4), South West (2), and Central West (1). Forty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (22), Regina (9), North Central (6), North West (3), South West (3), and Central East (2).

Of the 198 patients, 154 (77.8 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Two hundred and sixty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 54,350 recoveries.

There were 3,370 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,062,940 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
