286 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 192 recoveries

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 616.

There are 286 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 9, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (65), North Central (46), Far North East (25), South East (25), North West (19), Regina (12), South West (11), Far North West (7), North East (7), South Central (6), Central East (5), Central West (5), and Far North Central (4). 

All six of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Forty-nine cases are pending residence information.

Over one-third (35.per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 year age category.

Over one in eight (9.4 per cent) of new cases was fully vaccinated.

Eleven previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North Central (6), Saskatoon (2), North West (1), Central East (1), and Regina (1) zones.

Eight cases were deemed an out-of-province residents and removed from the Far North West (1) zone and pending locations (7).

There are now 57,521 reported cases, including 3,416 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 364 (30.2 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,461 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,196), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,293 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,493,099.

There are 184 people in hospital. One hundred and fifty-two people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (67), North Central (32), North West (22), Regina (12), North East (5), Far North West (4), South East (4), South West (3), and Central East (3). Thirty-two people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (17), Regina (6), North Central (6), North West (1), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Of the 184 patients, 141 (76.5 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and ninety-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 53,489 recoveries.

There were 2,819 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,052,108 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
