305 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 372 recoveries

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 613.

There are 305 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 7, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (84), North Central (39), Far North East (37) ,North West (35), North East (18), Regina (16), Central East (10), Far North West (9), South East (9), South West (5), Central West (5), South Central (3), and Far North Central (2).

All three of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Thirty-three cases are pending residence information.

Almost two-fifths (38.4 per cent) of new cases are in the 19 and under age category.

About one in eight (13.1 per cent) of new cases was fully vaccinated.

Fourteen previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the Far North East (6), North West (4), Far North West (2), North Central (1), and Central East (1) zones.

Due to a postal code matching error, three cases were reassigned; one case was reassigned from the Saskatoon to the Central East zone and two cases were reassigned from the North West to the North Central zone.

There are now 56,838 reported cases, including 3,184 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 350 (29.1 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,460 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,195), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 294 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,490,413.

There are 154 people in hospital. One hundred and twenty-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (62), North Central (21), Regina (15), North West (12), South West (5), North East (4), Central East (3), Far North West (1), South East (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-nine people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (19), Regina (4), North Central (3), North West (1), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Of the 154 patients, 110 (71.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Three hundred and seventy-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 53,041 recoveries.

There were 2,185 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,045,902 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
