355 new COVID-19 cases, 216 recoveries

There are 355 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 4, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (110), North Central (73), Far North East (30), North West (26), Far North West (23), Regina (21), North East (17), South East (14), Central East (12), South West (5), South Central (3), Central West (2), and Far North Central (1).

Two of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Eighteen cases are pending residence information.

More than one-third (35.2 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years of age category.

About one in seven (13.8 per cent) of new cases was fully vaccinated.

Twenty-seven cases with pending location were assigned to the North Central (18), Far North East (2), South East (2), Far North West (1), North West (1), North East (1), Saskatoon (1), and South West (1) zones.

One case has been deemed an out-of-province resident and removed from the Far North East zone.

There are now 55,750 reported cases, including 2,894 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 300 (24.9 new cases per 100,000). 

There are no additional deaths to report today. The provincial total remains at 610.

A total of 12,460 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,195), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,812 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,486,624.

There are 138 people in hospital. One hundred and sixteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (52), North Central (24), North West (12), Regina (12), North East (5), Central East (4), South West (3), Far North West (2), South East (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-two people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (11), Regina (5), North Central (4), North West (1), and Central East (1).

Of the 138 patients, 99 (71.7 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Two hundred and sixteen more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 52,246 recoveries.

There were 3,958 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,038,129 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
