418 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 152 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (131), North West (50), North Central (47), Central West (23), Regina (23), North East (21), Far North West (20), Far North East (15), South East (13), Central East (11), South West (10), and South Central (9), with 45 cases pending residence information

There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 610.

There are 418 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 3, 2021. That is the highest reported total since November 21, 2020.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (131), North West (50), North Central (47), Central West (23), Regina (23), North East (21), Far North West (20), Far North East (15), South East (13), Central East (11), South West (10), and South Central (9).

All of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Forty-five cases are pending residence information.

More than one-third (34.9 per cent) of new cases are in the 19-and-under age category.

According to the provincial government, of the new cases reported today 341 people are unvaccinated, 22 have received one dose, and 55 are fully vaccinated.

Twenty previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North Central (9), Far North East (4), Far North West (2), North West (2), Saskatoon (2), and North East (1) zones.

Twenty-five cases were Saskatchewan residents tested out of province and added to cases totals for the Saskatoon (6), Far North East (3), North West (3), North Central (3), Central East (3), South West (3), Far North West (1), Regina (1), South Central (1), and one case has pending residence information.

There are now 55,396 reported cases, including 2,755 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 302 (25.1 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,459 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,195), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,716 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,483,812.

There are 135 people in hospital. One hundred and twelve people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (47), North Central (24), Regina (13), North West (11), North East (5), Central East (5), Far North West (2), South West (2), South East (2), and South Central (1). Twenty-three people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), North Central (6), Regina (5), North West (1), and Central East (1).

Of the 135 patients, 95 (70.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and fifty-two more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 52,031 recoveries.

There were 3,293 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,034,171 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
