267 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 170 recoveries

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 608.

There are 267 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 2, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (59), North West (50), North Central (40), Far North East (31), South East (18), Far North West (15), Regina (14), North East (7), Central East (5), Central West (3), Far North Central (2), and South Central (2).

One of the new cases in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Twenty-one cases are pending residence information.

About two-fifths (38.6 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.

According to the provincial government, of the new cases reported today 219 people are unvaccinated, 12 have received one dose, and 36 are fully vaccinated.

Forty-five previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the Far North West (14), North West (13), North Central (8), Far North Central (5), Far North East (2), North East (2), and Regina (1) zones.

Three cases were Saskatchewan residents tested out of province and added to the case totals for the Central East (2) and Regina (1) zones.

Five cases were deemed non-SK residents and removed from the case totals and have pending resident information.

There are now 54,953 reported cases, including 2,466 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 279 (23.1 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,457 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,836), Saskatoon (2,194), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (99), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,933 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,481,096.

There are 134 people in hospital. One hundred and eleven people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (48), North Central (26), Regina (12), North West (6), North East (5), Central East (5), South West (3), Far North West (2), South East (2), Central West (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-three people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (10), North Central (5), Regina (5), North West (1), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Of the 134 patients, 97 (72.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and seventy more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 51,879 recoveries.

There were 2,954 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,030,878 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
