There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 603.
There are 274 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 31, 2021.
The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (72), Far North East (45), North Central (40), North West (36), North East (12), Central East (12), Regina (10), Far North West (8), South West (7), Central West (7), South East (3), and South Central (2).
One of the two new cases in the South Central is located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.
Twenty cases are pending residence information.
About two-fifths (39.4 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.
About one in six (17.9 per cent) new cases was fully vaccinated.
Twelve cases with pending location were assigned to the Far North East (9), South West (2), and Central East (1) zones.
Eighteen cases were Saskatchewan residents tested out of province and added to cases totals for Saskatoon (5), Far North West (2), North West (2), North East (2), North Central (1), Central West (1), Central East (1), Regina (1), South West (1), and two cases still have pending resident information.
One case has been deemed an out of province resident and removed from the North West count.
There are now 54,367 reported cases, including 2,204 active cases.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 248 (20.6 new cases per 100,000).
A total of 12,455 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,192), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (150), Far North East (99), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.
An additional 682 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,476,374.

There are 130 people in hospital. One hundred people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (41), North Central (29), Regina (14), North East (6), North West (5), South Central (2), Far North West (1), South West (1), and South East (1). Thirty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (14), North Central (5), Regina (5), North West (2), South Central (2), Central East (1), and South West (1).
Of the 130 patients, 97 (74.6 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.
One hundred and fifty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 51,560 recoveries.
There were 2,832 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,024,988 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
