369 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 120 recoveries

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 597.

There are 369 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on August 28, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (112), North Central (65), Far North East (41), North West (35), North East (24), Regina (22), Far North West (9), South East (9), South Central (8), Central West (6), Central East (6), South West (3), and Far North Central (2).

Seven of the eight new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Twenty-seven cases are pending residence information.

Just over one-third (38.5 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.

Eleven previously reported cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (2), Far North Central (2), North West (2), North Central (2), Saskatoon (2), and Regina (1) zones.

One Saskatchewan resident confirmed positive tested out-of-province was added to the case counts in Regina.

Fifteen false positive cases were removed from Regina (12), South East (2), and South Central (1) zones.

There are now 53,617 reported cases, including 1,987 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 210 (17.4 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,445 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,185), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (667), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (338), Central West (150), Far North East (99), North East (86), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,671 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,472,272.

There are 110 people in hospital. Eighty-five people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (34), North Central (26), Regina (10), North West (6), North East (3), Far North West (3), South Central (2), and South East (1). Twenty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (13), North Central (7), and Regina (5).

Of the 110 patients, 81 (73.6 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and twenty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 51,033 recoveries.

There were 4,057 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,017,908 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
