321 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths reported, 149 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (95), Far North East (69), North Central (38), Regina (19), Far North West (13), South East (11), North West (9), North East (7), Central East (6), Central West (5), Far North Central (4), South West (3), and South Central (2), with 40 cases pending residence information

There are four new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 607.

There are 321 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 1, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (95), Far North East (69), North Central (38), Regina (19), Far North West (13), South East (11), North West (9), North East (7), Central East (6), Central West (5), Far North Central (4), South West (3), and South Central (2).

Both of the new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Forty cases are pending residence information.

About two-fifths (35.5 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.

According to the provincial government, of the new cases reported today 254 people are unvaccinated, 17 have received one dose, and 50 are fully vaccinated.

Sixteen previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North West (7), North Central (6), Far North East (1), Saskatoon (1), and South West (1) zones. 

One case was a Saskatchewan resident tested out of province and added to cases totals for the South East zone.

Two cases were Saskatchewan residents tested in private labs and added to the case totals for the North Central zone. 

Three cases were deemed non-residents and removed from the case totals for the North Central (2) and Far North East (1) zones. 

There are now 54,688 reported cases, including 2,372 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 263 (21.8 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,456 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,836), Saskatoon (2,193), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (654), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (99), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 76 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 1,789 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,478,163.

There are 134 people in hospital. One hundred and four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (44), North Central (29), Regina (12), North West (6), North East (5), Central East (3), South East (2), Far North West (1), South Central (1), and South West (1). Thirty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (11), North Central (6), Regina (6), South Central (3), North West (2), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Of the 134 patients, 97 (72.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and forty-nine more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 51,709 recoveries.

There were 2,936 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,027,924 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
