389 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 163 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (153), North Central (58), North West (53), Far North West (20), Regina (20), Central West (14), Far North East (11), Central East (10), North East (9), South East (9), South Central (4), and South West (2), with 26 cases pending residence information

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 611.

There are 389 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 5, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (153), North Central (58), North West (53), Far North West (20), Regina (20), Central West (14), Far North East (11), Central East (10), North East (9), South East (9), South Central (4), and South West (2).

Two of the four new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Twenty-six cases are pending residence information.

Almost two-fifths (38.3 per cent ) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years of age category.

About one in seven (14.7 per cent) new cases was fully vaccinated.

Twenty previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the Far North East (10), Far North West (3), North West (2), North Central (2), Saskatoon (2), and Far North Central (1) zones.

There are now 56,139 reported cases, including 3,119 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 318 (26.4 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,460 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,195), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,489 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,489,113.

There are 138 people in hospital. One hundred and thirteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (54), North Central (21), Regina (13), North West (11), North East (5), Central East (4), South West (2), Far North West (1), South East (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-five people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (15), Regina (5), North Central (3), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Of the 138 patients, 98 (71 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

One hundred and sixty-three more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 52,409 recoveries.

There were 2,699 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,040,828 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
