393 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 260 recoveries

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 612.

There are 393 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 6, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (97), North West (65), North Central (64), North East (31), Far North West (25), Far North East (23) ,South West (15), South Central (13), Regina (11), Central East (10), South East (10), and Central West (4).

Eight of the 13 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Twenty-five cases are pending residence information.

About one-third (34.6 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years of age category.

About one in eight (12.2 per cent) new cases was fully vaccinated.

Seventeen previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North West (9), North Central (4), Far North East (1), Central East (1), Regina (1) and South Central (1) zones.

One Saskatchewan resident tested out-of-province was added to the Regina zone.

There are now 56,533 reported cases, including 3,252 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 346 (28.7 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,460 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,195), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 1,006 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,490,119.

There are 145 people in hospital. One hundred and eighteen people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (57), North Central (21), Regina (14), North West (10), North East (5), Central East (4), South West (4), Far North West (1), South East (1), and South Central (1). Twenty-seven people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (17), Regina (4), North Central (3), North West (1), Central East (1), and South West (1).

Of the 145 patients, 103 (71 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Two hundred and sixty more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 52,669 recoveries.

There were 2,889 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,043,717 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
