405 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 256 recoveries

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (98), North Central (78), Far North East (71), North West (39), Far North West (22), Regina (17), North East (14), Central East (10), Central West (7), South East (6), South Central (4), Far North Central (3), and South West (2), with 34 cases pending residence information

There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 615.

There are 405 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 8, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (98), North Central (78), Far North East (71), North West (39), Far North West (22), Regina (17), North East (14), Central East (10), Central West (7), South East (6), South Central (4), Far North Central (3), and South West (2).

Three of the four new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Thirty-four cases are pending residence information.

Over one-third (34.6 per cent) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 year age category.

Over one in eight (13.3 per cent) of new cases was fully vaccinated.

Twenty-two previously reported cases with pending location were assigned to the North West (7), Far North West (3), Far North East (3), Far North Central (2), North Central (2), Regina (2), South East (2), and Saskatoon (1) zones.

There are now 57,243 reported cases, including 3,331 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 362 (30.0 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,461 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,196), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 393 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,490,806.

There are 181 people in hospital. One hundred and forty-nine people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (69), North Central (28), North West (20), Regina (14), North East (5), Far North West (4), South West (4), Central East (3), and South East (2). Thirty-two people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (19), Regina (6), North Central (5), North West (1), Central East (1).

Of the 181 patients, 135 (74.46per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Two hundred and fifty-six more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 53,297 recoveries.

There were 3,387 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,049,289 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
