475 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths reported, 387 recoveries

There are two new deaths to report today. The provincial total is now at 629.

There are 475 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 15, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (118), North West (61), Far North East (47), North Central (41), Regina (36), Central East (25), South East (25), North East (23), Far North West (19), South West (17), South Central (10), Central West (8), and Far North Central (4).

Seven of the 10 new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Forty-one cases are pending residence information.

Over one-third (34.9 per cent ) of new cases are in the 19 years and under age category.

According to the government, of the new cases reported today, 377 were not vaccinated, 26 were partially vaccinated, and 72 were fully vaccinated. The 377 unvaccinated individuals includes 104 kids between the ages of 0-11. 

Forty-two cases with pending residence information were reassigned to the North West (16), Far North East (11), North Central (6), Saskatoon (6), Far North West (1), Central East (1), and Regina (1) zones.

Two Saskatchewan residents tested out-of-province have been added to the case counts in the Regina (1) and South East (1) zones.

One repeat case with pending residence information was removed from case counts on Sept. 13.

There are now 60,149 reported cases, including 4,016 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 416 (34.6 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,461 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,196), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,046 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,505,431.

There are 224 people in hospital. One hundred and eighty-four people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (74), North Central (33), North West (28), Regina (17), North East (7), South East (7), Far North West (5), South Central (5), Central East (4), and South West (4). Forty people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (18), Regina (9), North Central (5), Central East (3), North West (2), South West (2), and South Central (1).

Of the 224 patients, 169 (75.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Three hundred and eighty-seven more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 55,504 recoveries.

There were 4,010 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,074,354 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
