439 new COVID-19 cases, 1 death reported, 391 recoveries

There is one new death to report today. The provincial total is now at 630.

There are 439 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 16, 2021. 

The new cases are located in the following zones: Saskatoon (124), North West (61), North Central (42), Far North East (39), South East (38), Central East (29), Regina (28), Far North West (22), North East (11), Central West (8), South Central (7), and South West (5).

Five of the seven new cases in the South Central are located in the South Central 2 sub-zone, which includes Moose Jaw and area.

Twenty-five cases are pending residence information.

One-third (33.3 per cent) of new cases are in the 19 years and under age category.

According to the government, of the new cases reported today, 347 were not vaccinated, 20 were partially vaccinated, and 72 were fully vaccinated. The 347 unvaccinated individuals includes 97 kids between the ages of 0-11. 

Twenty previously reported cases with pending residence information were reassigned to North Central (9), Far North East (3), North West (2), North East (2), Far North West (1), Saskatoon (1), Regina (1), and South Central (1) zones.

One Saskatchewan resident tested out-of-province was added to the case counts in Regina (1).

There are now 60,589 reported cases, including 4,064 active cases.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 438 (36.4 new cases per 100,000). 

A total of 12,461 Variants of Concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, reported in the following zones: Regina (4,835), Saskatoon (2,196), South East (1,158), South Central (894), North West (883), North Central (668), Central East (655), South West (416), Far North West (339), Central West (149), Far North East (100), North East (87), and Far North Central (4). There are 77 screened VOCs with residence pending.

An additional 2,595 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,508,026.

There are 218 people in hospital. One hundred and seventy people are receiving inpatient care in the following zones: Saskatoon (73), North Central (26), North West (24), Regina (19), North East (5), South East (5), South West (5), Central East (4), South Central (4), Far North West (3), and Central West (2). Forty-eight people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (20), Regina (10), North Central (7), Central East (4), North West (3), South West (2), and South Central (2).

Of the 218 patients, 160 (73.4 per cent) are not fully vaccinated.

Three hundred and ninety-one more people have recovered, increasing the provincial total to 55,895 recoveries.

There were 3,753 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan. To date, 1,078,107 COVID-19 tests have been processed.
