With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Melanie Simpson, age 56, of Moose Jaw, SK formerly of Assiniboia, SK.
Predeceased by her parents, Marilyn and Alvin and sister Sheila, Mel is survived by brother Wayne, nieces Brooke, Brianna, Sabrina; grand nephews Roman, Levy and grand niece Clementine.
Mel passed away January 16, 2024 with family and friends at her side. Born December 2, 1967 in Assiniboia, SK and raised in South Sask, Mel always kept the true values of life’s simple pleasures. She was always there as a friend, to share a welcomed laugh, and a hot cup of very strong coffee.
Mel is loved and will be dearly missed by many from family, to friends, to neighbours. She was always an active part of the community never failing to help someone with zero judgment. Even if that meant feeding Seymour the squirrel the bird feed because he was hungry.
Mel spent a lot of time working at her sobriety and received her 10 year chip in 2019. She was then able to cultivate a large group of friends and spent her days enjoying many sober activities such as lunch ins and shopping -- Mel would never say no to an adventure!
She was an eccentric soul finding joy in each moment that she had, from crystal collecting to crocheting a cloth for every trip up town.

In lieu of flowers or donations in Memory of Mel, the family asks you take yourself for a coffee, that’s what Mel would have wanted.
Graveside Service for Mel will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:00pm at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK.
