BALE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darcy Blaine Bale, who left us on Wednesday, March 11th, 2025, at the age of 69 years. Born on August 27th, 1955, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Darcy was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Lila Bale; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins, who welcomed him with open arms. Darcy will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Shelley (Randy); his cherished nieces, Tara (Peter) Dobson and Elise (Christopher) Pater; as well as great-niece and great-nephews: Eleanor Dobson, Caleb, Zachary, and Alexander Pater.

Growing up on the family farm near Chaplin, Saskatchewan, Darcy developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land. In 1967, the family moved to Rosetown, SK where Darcy attended elementary school before continuing his education in Regina, SK. Throughout his life, he embraced various careers, including work in cement and pavement, and later as an Instrumentational Technician in the oil and gas industry. In 1989, he relocated to Calgary, AB where he lived until 2011, before returning to Saskatchewan and settling in Estevan.

In his final years, Darcy found joy and purpose as the Maintenance Caretaker and resident "Mr. Fix-it" at Iver Main Retirement Home in Central Butte, SK. His time there was particularly special as he reconnected with family and long-time friends, bringing laughter and light to those around him.

Darcy had a passion for woodworking and ancestry research, dedicating his spare time to creating beautiful pieces of furniture for his nieces, which will be treasured by their families for generations to come. His creativity and craftsmanship were a testament to his love and thoughtfulness.

A Celebration of Darcy’s Life will be held on Sunday, May 18th, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Harvey Room at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. All who knew him are invited to join in honouring his memory and sharing stories of the joy he brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Darcy’s memory to Iver Main Retirement Home, PO Box 550, Central Butte, SK SOH 0T0 (Attn: Jerry Upton) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Box 2414, Toronto, ON M4P 1E4, organizations that reflect his caring spirit and commitment to community.

Darcy will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Michelle Ellis, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
