The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States. In Canada, Vancouver and Toronto will combine to host 13 matches, with Toronto's BMO Field staging six, including Canada’s first-ever World Cup game on home soil June 12.
Seven games will be played at B.C. Place Stadium, including Canada’s group matches on June 18 and 24. Vancouver will also host knockout stage games on July 2 (round of 32) and July 7 (round of 16).
That means the Toronto Argonauts and B.C. Lions will be displaced to start the CFL season.
During the World Cup, the Argonauts will play home games against the host teams at Mosaic Stadium, Hamilton Stadium, and Winnipeg's Princess Auto Stadium.
The Lions will relocate for two home games, and the club plans to announce those details later.
The CFL added that the Argos' and Lions' schedules next season will be made to re-establish home-field advantage for the second half of the 2026 campaign.
This will mark the first time three countries will host the World Cup, as 48 teams from six confederations are slated to participate in the global event.
