The Moose Jaw Warriors apparently had a serious problem with their goal differential heading into their Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League contest against the Notre Dame Argos on Wednesday night.

And boy, oh boy did they do something about it.

The Warriors scored three goals in the first period, poured in another five in one of the most dominant periods of hockey in recent history and added another six in the third on their way to a 14-0 victory in Wilcox.

The win was the most lopsided in the league since the Beardy’s Blackhawks took a 14-0 win over the Battlefords on Nov. 25, 2010. The only time more goals were scored in the last decade came during the 2009-10 season, when the Notre Dame Hounds rolled to a 16-4 victory over Battlefords on Jan. 30.

While all three periods featured plenty of domination, it was the second that truly stood out – the Warriors outshot the Argos 34-7 in the frame as they took complete control of the contest.

Connor McGrath and Atley Calvert each led the Warriors with two goals and two assists, while Ben Wourms-Rowe contributed a hat trick to the assault. Caelan Fitzpatrick, Kirk Mullen and Chris Otterson scored two each, Parker Douglas had their other goal.

Wyatt Wilson had four assists, Ethan Peters and Max Wanner three helpers each, Parker Jasper and Sam Boldt two assists apiece.

Chase Coward was in goal and had 17 saves to earn the shutout.

The Warriors improved to 6-3-0-0 with the win and sit in fifth place in the 12-team loop, two points back of the Saskatoon Blazers and four points out of first.

The team's next game is on Saturday when they host the Beardy’s Blackhawks. Game time is 7 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
