Saskatchewan COVID-19 cases at 271, 26 health care workers confirmed positive

Saskatchewan now has 271 confirmed positive cases, and 26 cases are healthcare workers

There are 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, bringing the provincial total to 271 with 165 active cases. 

Of the total cases confirmed positive, 26 cases are health care workers, although Public Health can’t confirm if all of these cases were caused by transmission in a health care situation. 

Another individual has been hospitalized with the virus, totalling 8 cases in either inpatient care or intensive care. 

Fifteen more people have recovered, totalling 103 recoveries since the first reported recoveries on March 26. There have been no new fatalities due to the virus since April 1. 

Of the total cases, 119 are travel-related, 90 are community or household transmission related, 16 have no known exposures, and 46  are still under investigation by Public Health. 

The area with the most cases in the province continues to be Saskatoon with 135, while 56 are from the Regina area, 55 are in the north, 15 in the south, and 10 in the central region.

The majority of cases are within the 20-64 age range, and 54 per cent of cases are males. 

The province has now processed 15,621 COVID-19 tests.
