Saskatchewan police will continue to be on the lookout for impaired drivers throughout the month of January.
According to a press release from SGI, Saskatchewan police typically report between 200 to 400 impaired driving offences each month, the majority of which are Criminal Code offences.
SGI reminds drivers to use any of the following alternatives:
- arranging for a designated driver;
- taking a cab, a rideshare, or a designated driving service that brings you and your vehicle home;
- using public transit;
- staying the night.
Of course, you can always use the free, recently updated SGI Safe ride app to help you plan your safe ride home.
Statistics from December’s Traffic Safety Spotlight have not been released, but there were 286 impaired driving offences reported during November.
