New COVID-19 cases rises by 7, more patients hospitalized

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan is now 260, with seven individuals hospitalized due to the virus

Seven more cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by officials in Saskatchewan, and seven more people have recovered from the virus. 

There are now 260 total cases in the province, with 169 active. 

Three more individuals have been hospitalized due to complications related to COVID-19, with 5 individuals receiving inpatient care and two individuals in intensive care. 

Of the total cases, 115 are travel-related, 80 are community or household transmission related, 13 have no known exposures, and 52 are still under investigation by Public Health. 

Saskatoon still has the majority of cases in the province with 131, while 52 are from the Regina area, 52 are in the north, 15 in the south, and 10 in the central region. 

There have been no more COVID-19 related fatalities reported since April 1. 

Saskatchewan has now processed 14,722 COVID-19 tests in the province. 

Public health officials are reminding residents to continue to social distance and stay home, and to consider different options of celebrating the Easter holiday this weekend to maintain social distance. 

Public health is also strongly encouraging residents to be efficient while out shopping or running errands, and not to linger too long in public spaces if possible.
