Ingalls, Canada post another commanding win at indoor lacrosse worlds

Moose Jaw product picks up assist as Canada rolls to 16-2 win over Israel
Moose Jaw’s Quinn Ingalls and Team Canada are cruising along at the World Junior Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Mississauga, Ont.

Canada scored four goals in the first quarter and built an 8-0 lead early in the third on their way to a 16-2 victory over Israel in their second round robin contest at the six-team event.

Ingalls – a Moose Jaw Lacrosse Association product who plays for the Saskatchewan SWAT in the Rocky Mountain Junior Lacrosse League – didn’t have quite the offensive output after a four-goal showing in Canada’s opening 24-4 win over Australia, but with the way Canada was firing on all cylinders, he didn’t need to.

The 19-year-old transition player drew an assist on Canada’s 11th goal scored by St. Catherines, Ont.’s Sam LeClair with 2:12 remaining in the third quarter. LeClair finished the game as one of the top scorers with four goals and nine points while Mimico, Ont.’s Johnathan Peshko led Canada with four goals and 10 points.

The two teams will meet again in the tournament semifinal on Saturday, with the winner of that game playing the gold medal game on Sunday night.
