Saskatchewan is reporting 4 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province, for a provincial total of 253 cases confirmed.

Of that total, officials are now labelling 169 cases as active, which doesn’t include any cases reported as recoveries or deaths.

Fourteen more individuals have recovered from the virus, for a total of 81, and no more deaths have occurred since the third fatality reported on April 1.

Four cases remain in hospital care, with three in Saskatoon and one in Regina.

Of the 253 cases in the province, 112 cases are travel-related, 77 are the result of community or household contact, 14 have no known exposures, and 50 are still under investigation.

The virus still appears to be affecting the Saskatoon area the worst, with 127 cases, while Regina has 51 and the central region has 10.

The 20-44 age range remains the demographic with the highest number of reported cases, as do males at 53 per cent of reported cases.

Public health reminds residents to continue to practice safety measures and social distancing efforts, especially those continuing to work in essential workplaces like healthcare and industrial settings, grocery stores, and care facilities.

Officials are also reminding residents to be efficient while out shopping, to help minimize the risk of viral spread, and to limit trips to once a week for essential goods.
