COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan increases by 22, number of recovered cases doubles

Saskatchewan now has 156 cases of COVID-19 in the province, with five hospitalized individuals and four cases reporting recovery

Saskatchewan is reporting 22 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the province, bring the total number of positive cases to 156. 

Five people are in hospital, with two in intensive care units and the rest in acute care. 

At least seven cases were the result of local transmission, while the rest are travel-related or the result of exposure at mass gatherings. 

To date, at least 20 confirmed cases have been linked to a snowmobile rally dinner in Christopher Lake on Mar. 14. In order for public health to contact all 130 people who were present at this event, officials are asking anyone who attended the dinner to contact HealthLine 811. 

Of the total cases reported in the province, the majority are in the 19 to 64 age range. Five cases are individuals under the age of 19, and 23 cases are individuals over the age of 65.

Saskatchewan has now performed 9,086 COVID-19 tests at the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory.

The province is also reporting that another four individuals have recovered from the virus, doubling the total to eight recoveries. No deaths have been reported in the province as of yet.
