AAAs fall to Pat Cs in Regina

McGrath scores lone Warriors goal in 2-1 road loss
The Moose Jaw Warriors came out on the short end of a defensive battle with the Regina Pat Canadians in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action on Wednesday night.

Connor McGrath scored shorthanded with 4:46 gone in the third period, but that would be all the offence the Warriors could muster as they dropped a 2-1 decision in Regina.

Former Warrior Cal Caragata opened scoring for the Pat Cs with 2:52 remaining in the first, and there the score would remain until Kyren Gronick extended Regina’s lead to 2-0 only nine seconds into the third.

Chase Coward made 21 stops for the Warriors, Jared Thompson had 20 saves for Regina.

Moose Jaw fell to 10-5-1-0 on the season and remain in fourth place in the SMAAAHL, one point back of Prince Albert. Regina improved to 9-5-2-0.

The Warriors are back in action Saturday when they host the Swift Current Legionnaires. Game time is 7 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
