It was the second-straight win over the Legionnaires for the Warriors, who downed Swift Current 5-2 at home on Saturday.
The rematch was a bit closer, though, as the two teams found themselves tied 2-2 when Swift Current’s Carter Cormier scored with 7:28 remaining in the game.
The tie only lasted nine seconds, however, as Jackson Allan scored to retake the lead for Moose Jaw and then gave the Warriors a 4-2 edge only nine seconds after that marker.
Brady Wilson extended the lead to three goals with 4:31 to play, and while Hudson Darby would get one for the Legionnaires with 1:04 remaining, they’d get no closer.
The Warriors’ Kayden Ostrom and Cormier exchanged goals in the first three minutes of the game before Ostrom added his second of the period with 3:18 remaining to give Moose Jaw a 2-1 lead.
There was no scoring in the second period.
Wilson and Allan each added an assist to their offensive totals, while Blake Ekren-Bratton had two helpers.
Ryan Bain made 20 saves to earn the win, Brayden Schenstead faced 44 shots for Swift Current.
The win sees the Warriors cap their exhibition schedule with a 2-1 record. They’ll now have the next week off before hosting the Estevan Bears on Wednesday, Sept. 29 in their regular-season opener. Game time is 7 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
