Exciting news—Rural Saskatchewan residents can now access fast and reliable Internet for both work and play.

In June of 2020, Xplornet introduced SAT-50 high-speed Internet service with speeds up to 50 Mbps (megabits per second) to local residents who were previously unable to gain access to wireless internet.

“We now have a satellite beam covering the area that allows us to offer speeds up to 50 Mbps,” Rhonda Adair, Xplornet’s District Manager for Saskatchewan says.

“This allows us to keep everyone connected at a stronger rate, and for a longer period of time.”

Canada’s leading rural high-speed Internet provider, Xplornet Communications, provides remote residents access up to 50 Mbps of full-speed unlimited data. The company is also committed to ongoing service improvement in Saskatchewan.

Dating back to 2017, Xplornet launched two satellites and focused on building and improving nearly 150 wireless towers to connect residents of Saskatchewan, providing them with even more rural Internet access.

“Our belief is that everyone should have access to the online world,” Adair says.

“Our mandate involves improving our networks to offer our customers bigger and better service, allowing for more flexibility.”

Adair believes that Xplornet’s presence is even more impactful during these unprecedented times, as the remote-working population continues to expand as a result of COVID-19.

“Many residents are working from home and participating in Zoom meetings, while other family members in the home may also need access to high-speed Internet,” Adair says.

“The type of speed we offer allows customers the flexibility to run multiple programs without the inconvenience of buffering and freezing. Prior to this service, individuals may have encountered difficulties working remotely because they just didn’t have the bandwidth to do so.”

With its new high-speed wireless service, Xplornet is providing fast Internet access for its rural Saskatchewan customers.

“We want people to know that we’re here for them,” Adair says.

“Customers are our main focus. We’re making sure we can offer them a product that will help keep them connected during any time.”
