Sarah Grace Ross (Manske)

Sarah was born February 11, 1918, to Annie and Henry Weeks. She passed away at 103 years old, having a long and eventful life and literally seeing the whole world change before her eyes over the course of a century. Sarah held many titles throughout her life — mother, grandmother, great - great grandmother, sister, wife, friend and many more. On October 15, 1941, she married the tall, dark, and handsome, Henry Ross. This union produced 5 children — Mavis, Doris, Ellen, Bruce, and Blain. Sarah’s family and friends describe her as loving, caring, funny, genuine, and generous but also tough, determined and a bit mischievous (a necessity dealing with her children and many grandchildren)! At 85 years old, we can still hear her laughter as she shot a homemade potato gun off the deck at the lake. Sarah was also very adventurous and at 89 years young, bought a trailer at the lake at Buffalo Pound. Here she could be found over the summer months, tending to her plants (with her very green thumb) and relaxing on the deck. Sarah always had an energy — an undeniable spark about her. The family will always appreciate her story telling abilities — being able to remember stories from all points in time, her great sense of humour and her giggle. At only five feet 2 inches tall, Sarah is evidence that good GREAT things come in small packages. Now born into eternity, I am confident the stories and memories of this beautiful and charismatic woman will continue to be shared. I encourage Sarah — our angel — to watch over us and give us direction — we will see you again! Private Celebration of Life and Interment July 7, 2021. In living memory of  Sarah a memorial planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.jonesparkview.com (Obituaries).
