Esther Doreen Rempfer (nee Benson)

Esther Rempfer passed away peacefully in Moose Jaw, SK, on September 14, 2019 at the age of 85.  Esther was born to Westley and Mary Benson on February 22, 1934 in Central Butte, SK, and was the 4th of 7 children. She left the farm in Darmody, SK at the young age of 15 years and soon after started working at the Exchange Café in Moose Jaw where she met her husband Victor Rempfer, who was stationed in Moose Jaw. Victor was transferred to Calgary where they had four children Dale (deceased) Patricia, Wayne, and Debbie. Esther was a restless sole and heard the mountains calling and ended up in Kelowna, BC where she met Charles Arrance. Together they had two children Lana and Raymond. She then returned home to live in Darmody, SK to be close to her parents. In pursuit of employment she also resided in Eyebrow, SK, Central Butte, SK, Rosetown SK, and Brownlee, SK. before finally settling down in Moose Jaw for the remainder of her life. At Esther's request, cremation has taken place.  There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at Providence Place Chapel, 100 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK.  Deacon Lamont Dyck will officiate. She will be sorely missed by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   A special thank-you is extended to all caregivers from Regency Manor in Central Butte, SK, as well as Providence Place Moose Jaw for her end of life care. Donations made in her memory to Providence Place, 100 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 1B8 would be appreciated. In living memory of Esther a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
