Ronald "Ted" McHolm

Oct 14, 1939- Feb 16, 2024

It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of a wonderful father, son, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Ted was born in Moose Jaw in 1939 and was raised on the farm south of Moose Jaw in the Baildon RM. As a young man he took up carpentry working for Lee Wedhorn. He earned his Journeyman ticket in carpentry from STI.

He worked with Lee through the 1960's. In the early 1970's he started farming. He also became the head Carpenter and locksmith at Valley View Center for 25 years. His true passion was making music, especially playing his banjos. He truly loved playing with his band THE DUSTY OLD FARMERS.

He was predeceased by the love of his life Peggie; his mother Ethellynn and stepfather Henry Stratford; father William McHolm; and two brothers Bill McHolm and Barry Stratford.

He will be missed by his two children, Janet (Evert) Gustafson and Travis McHolm; sister Shirley (Grant) Hutchinson; brother Gordon (Eileen); brother-in-law Doug (Joan) Gomersall; sister-in-law Sherry (Barry) Quam; grandchildren Jenna, Samantha (Yevgeni), Ashley (Tyler) and Brittany (Tyler); 14 great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

A very special Thank You to the wonderful staff at Providence Place for their loving care.

A Celebration of Ted's Life will take place on Monday February 26, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Alliance Church, 14 Neslia Pl, Moose Jaw, SK, with Rev. Mike Magnus officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ted's name to the charity of your choice.

In living memory of Ronald, a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Ltd. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
