HOLLAND, MYRLA
At the age of 78, Myrla passed away peacefully on Saturday August 16th, 2025, surrounded by family and her dear friend Betty.
She was predeceased by her mother Myrtle Silsby and her daughter Lynette Peet and her brother-in-law Bill Gibson. She is survived by her best friend, partner and husband Kent, her daughters Tara Holland (Tim McNulty) and Amber Holland (Travis Brown), son-in-law Parry Peet and sister-in-law Merla Gibson (yes there were two).
Myrla was a passionately proud grandmother of Brienna and Kesia McNulty and Wendal and Thomas Peet. She will be profoundly missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews as she was most certainly the matriarch of the clan.
Born September 8th, 1946, Myrla grew up in Bethune, SK. She graduated as a nurse from the Regina General Hospital as part of the class of 1967. She married Kent in December 1968 and built a life on the family farm near Dilke. In 2005, Myrla and Kent moved to Caryle after retiring from farming and for the last 6 years, Myrla and Kent have made Mulberry Estates in Moose Jaw their home.
Myrla spent her lifetime caring for and supporting others, being the person that showed up when needed and taking the reins to make things better. She often helped friends and family navigate challenging situations and built a legacy through many community organizations. If you had the opportunity to be part of her life, you could always expect no nonsense conversation, practical wisdom, advice and especially her unapologetic honesty.
A Remembrance Service for Myrla will be held on Thursday, August 21st, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Moose Jaw Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will also be held on Friday August 22nd, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bethune Cemetery, with a time of fellowship following in the K+S Potash Canada Community Hall in Bethune. Family and friends are welcome to join any or all of these celebrations of Myrla.
