David Joseph (Dave) Gieni

Dave was born August 5, 1992 in Moose Jaw.  With profound sadness, we announce his passing on September 7, 2019.  We were blessed to have this gentle, kind, talented, wonderful soul in our lives the past 27 years.  He was predeceased by his grandparents Vasile and Barbara Gieni.  Dave leaves to mourn:  his mother, Carol Carrobourg (John Blondeau), his father Les Gieni (Deneen Gieni), his brother Michael Gieni, grandmother Josie Carrobourg, grandfather Garry Carrobourg, step-brother Brett Sutherland, step-sisters Brandi and Tori Sutherland (Victor Clark), nephews and niece Domenic and Raya Gieni, Damon and Winston Clark, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Dave attended Vanier Collegiate and worked at various places, his favourite as maintenance for Prairie Oasis Complex.  Dave was a talented skateboarder, and an exceptional, self-taught musician.  He specialized in guitar, but also mastered bass guitar, keyboards and drums.  He composed and recorded his own music, inspired by his idol, Eddie Van Halen.  Dave was a perfectionist and would practice until he mastered whatever he was interested in. Dave was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many people.  He loved all, and was loved by all.  He will be missed terribly. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Church of Our Lady hall (566 Vaughan Street) from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to World Vision Canada (1 World Drive, Mississauga ON, L5T 2Y4) (with whom he had sponsored a child), or the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA Saskatchewan Division, 270 12th Avenue, Regina, SK  S4T 1J2.  In living memory of Dave a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services. Please see our online book of condolences at www.parkviewfuneralchapel.ca and www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries). Blair Scott, Funeral Director.
