Rose Collen Frank (Bateman) was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan on August 21st, 1928. Passed away in Swift Current, Saskatchewan on July 24th, 2021. Predeceased by parents, James Albert and Faye (Robinson) Bateman, husband Philip Frank, sisters Norma (Farris) Baba and Treva Swallow; brother Cliff (Carmen) Bateman; sons-in-law Bill Keller, Bob L’Heureux; grandson Alan Keller; as well as many in-laws, nephews, and nieces. Survived by daughter Nancy Keller and her family Marcie (Neil) Stork, Thomas, Layla, Tianna, Kaitlyn, Vickie Keller, Nathan (Shay) Rhett, Rory, Brittany, Jason (Shannon) Keller, Josh, Alexis, Christie Keller, Cody, Jordan, Tehya; Daughter Penny L’Heureux and her family Rachelle (Deryk), Claire Donison (Dan), Jayda, Cash, Peter (Jenn), Edan, Mya, Kayln, Cole, Briley; Son Bruce Frank (Karen) and their family Melissa Friesen (Tyler), Cohen, Nixon, Lynette Bissonette (Ivan) Ryder, and Sawyer. Colleen grew up on a farm in the Bateman area, a town named after her grandfather who was the first postmaster. She married Philip Frank on August 28th, 1946. They lived in Meath Park and Vanguard, in early 1950’s moved to the “NINE MILE CORNER” farm. In 1958 they moved their family to Bateman, where Colleen worked in the local general store. She was very active in the community – volunteering for every good cause, church activities. She also kept her kids busy in baseball, skating, curling, hockey, etc. She always had a large garden and generously provided vegetables for many families. Colleen became the post mistress in Bateman and held that position for 22 years. She loved visiting with all the community members, more often than not, inviting them in for coffee. She was known for her hospitable nature and house full of company. Philip and Colleen moved to Moose Jaw in the late 90’s after retiring from the post office. She continued her volunteering spirit and worked in the gift shop in the hospital for many years. She filled her days with friends, playing cards, dancing, and family. She loved to socialize and was a wonderful friend to many. When asked what she’d like in her obituary, she wrote, “Just remember me as a mom, grandma, great grandma and friend that loved you all dearly”. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. A celebration of Life will be held on July 29th, 2021, at 11:00am in Moose jaw, SK at Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
