With sadness we announce the passing of Daniel Norman Cornish aged 75 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on Sunday, May 5th, 2024. Dan was born on July 1st, 1948, to Lloyd and Ruth Cornish of Eyebrow, SK, the 4th of 9 children.

Dan grew up on the family farm 1 mile southwest of Eyebrow, with great happiness while spending time with his family and friends there. He graduated from high school in 1967 and went on to further his education at Aldersgate Bible College in Moose Jaw, where he met the love of his life, Darla Lamb, and they were married on December 20th, 1968. He graduated with a degree in Theology from Aldersgate and then went on to work at various jobs for 5 years until finding his calling with the Moose Jaw City Police Department. There he helped many in their times of crisis as he deeply cared for people.

Dan sang at many funerals, weddings and other special occasions, as well as the National Anthem at first the Canucks, and then at the Moose Jaw Warriors hockey games for many years. He was well known and liked as “The Singing Policeman”.

Dan was predeceased by his loving wife, Darla; her parents Bill and Kay Lamb, and sister, Kathy Claypool; his parents, Lloyd and Ruth Cornish; sister, Bev (Dave) Wolfe; brothers, Gary and Bob; in-laws, Denise Cornish and Jerry Knelsen; and niece, Kimberly Cornish.
