Brenda Lee Coates
1958 – 2020
Brenda Lee Coates passed away in Moose Jaw, Wednesday March 11, 2020 at the age of 61. Brenda was born and raised in Delisle, Saskatchewan, graduated from Delisle High School and Saskatoon Business College before working in the University Hospital business office. In 1983 she married Orval. Brenda had always wanted to work in banking and changed her career path to work for Scotia Bank while starting to raise her family. Brenda and Orval settled in Moose Jaw in 2000 until present. Brenda made great friendships either through work, with other parents or even with strangers at the coffee shop. Brenda enjoyed figure skating and curling in her younger years. As a mother she volunteered to help with many activities at school, such as making hot lunches, chaperoning field trips and providing rides for anyone who needed one. The kids were always involved in sports and multiple activities, which she was always helping out with. Brenda also did bookkeeping for local businesses. Brenda made lasting friendships wherever she went. She took great pleasure in making special gifts such as quilts, stuffed toys and crafts for her friends and their children or grandchildren. Brenda was devoted to her children and grandchildren. They were always at her side under her watchful eye. She liked to make her hobbies productive and was known for baking, repairing zippers, quilting, sewing, and making crafts. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her husband Orval; her children, Michael, Steven, Kristine, and Jenna; her son David (Jessalynn), their children Lacey, Dawson and Rosalyn; her mother Jean; her siblings, Colin, John, and Linda; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Brenda’s father, Stan, had previously passed on. Services will be postponed till a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, 200-4545 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK, S4W 0G3 are kindly accepted. In living memory of Brenda, a memorial planting will be made by Jones - Parkview Funeral Services.
