ANTON, Paul

Paul Michael Anton passed away peacefully on June 20, 2019 with his family at his side.  Paul and his twin brother John were born on June 19, 1963, the same day that Regina celebrated its Diamond Jubilee.  Both grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan.   Paul attended The School for the Deaf in Saskatoon for all of his school years.  After graduation he worked at The Saskatoon Veterans Home for over ten years in food services, and he enjoyed interacting with all of the residents.  Paul loved camping and travelling when his health permitted.  He travelled across Canada with his sister Elaine and long time good friend Dreena Davis.  Paul and Elaine also travelled to Phoenix, AZ.  Paul's jersey collection is a testament to the fact that he loved to watch and attend junior hockey.  He liked to collect crazy fun hats from the cities he visited. He enjoyed photography, coin collecting, and group activities at Providence Place, especially buying ice cream in the Homesteader's Room. 

Paul is predeceased by his parents Nick and Eileen; twin brother John; grandparents Adolph and Josephine Anton; and Wesley and Sophie Beitel.  He is survived by his siblings Allan Anton, Elaine Anton, Neil Anton all of Moose Jaw, Donna P (Glenn) Anton Harned of Prince George, BC, Garth Anton of Seattle, Washington, Carole Ann (Stuart) Anton Gregory of Regina and nephews and niece  Brandon Mallory, Kaylee (Forrest) Harned Tower, and David Harned; as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. 

The Funeral Service will take place in the chapel at Providence Place, 100 2nd Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:45 am.   Father George Thattuparampil will be the presiding celebrant.  Reception to follow at Grant Hall, 401 Main St. N, in the Parkview Room. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Providence Place Auxiliary (for resident activities), 100 - 2nd Avenue NE, Moose Jaw, SK, S6H 1B8. The family of Paul would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of Paul and a very, very special thanks to ALL of the residents and staff of Providence Place that made Paul's 14 year stay there his home. You were truly his extended family to which we will always be forever grateful. In living memory of Paul a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
