Anyone who was out and about on Sunday afternoon knew this was coming.

The Western Hockey League announced just after 1 p.m. that the game between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Regina Pats in Regina had been postponed due to adverse weather.

Both cities are in the midst of a heavy winter storm, with snowfall expected to hit the 15 cm range and currently closing highways in the Moose Jaw area -- including the Trans Canada Highway from Moose Jaw past Belle Plaine.

Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait long to see the two teams make up the contest. The game will now be played on Wednesday, Oct. 26 in Regina, with the usual 7 p.m. puck drop.

Next home action for the Warriors is Friday, Oct. 28 when they host the Everett Silvertips. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
