REGINA – Look into many offices, shops, or other businesses on a Rider Game Day, and you will definitely see some people wearing their “Rider Green” to support the club.
This weekend it's the 60th Labour Day Classic against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Rider Nation knows gearing up for this game is just a little different.
So instead of waiting until Friday, the Riders are encouraging all good citizens of “Rider Nation” to start wearing green right now.
Club President Craig Reynolds says “Everybody wears green on game day, but it's a special week on the CFL calendar, so they are encouraging everyone to wear their “Rider Finery” for the rest of the week leading up to Sunday’s big game. Reynolds says, “It’s called the classic for a reason, and there always classic moments of this great rivalry over the last 60 years.”
Earlier this week, the city hoisted a Riders Flag on one of the flagpoles outside of city hall.
The 60th Labour Day Classic between Saskatchewan and Winnipeg goes Sunday afternoon. All this week, the SportsCage on 620CKRM is keeping you up to date with all of the inside stories on preperations.
Sunday, “Countdown to Kick off” starts at 2 p.m., with kick off set for 5 p.m. on 620CKRM, and the Co-Operators Roughrider Broadcast Network.
