The early bird date might have passed, but there’s still plenty of time to register for the Briercrest College Clippers sports camps beginning at the end of July. The co-ed volleyball camp for ages 12 to 18 kicks things off from July 28 to Aug.

The early bird date might have passed, but there’s still plenty of time to register for the Briercrest College Clippers sports camps beginning at the end of July.

The co-ed volleyball camp for ages 12 to 18 kicks things off from July 28 to Aug. 2, followed  by boys basketball for ages 11 to 18 from Aug. 4-9 and girls basketball for ages 11 to 18 from Aug. 11-16.

Each camp will take place at the Margaret P. Reimer gymnasium, with participants receiving high quality instruction from collegiate- and professional-level coaches and players, whose goal is to see each camper succeed in all areas of life. Coaches and athletes will be offered comprehensive athletic, spiritual, and leadership training and challenged to reach their potential.

Each camper will participate in team activities where they will bond with their leader and a small group of campers their own age. Co-ordinating the volleyball camp will be Nolan Weinmaster (nweinmaster@briercrest.ca), head coach of the ACAC finalist women’s volleyball Clippers, while Clippers men’s basketball coach Shane Sowden (ssowden@briercrest.ca) will lead the boys basketball camp and women’s basketball coach Danny Vincent (dvincent@briercrest.ca) is in charge of the girls basketball camp.

The cost for the volleyball and boys basketball events is $485, which covers all camp fees, meals and housing arrangements. The girls basketball camp features a series of family discounts at $320 for a second child and $265 for a third child. Briercrest Christian Academy students can attend any of the camps for $375. To receive the girls basketball discounts, email coach Vincent before registering.

Check in for each week is Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., with check out on Friday afternoon at 5 p.m.

Feel free to contact any of the co-ordinators at the above e-mails for more information and/or click here to register.
