You will find lots of fun activities in and around Moose Jaw and area this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.
Homegrown Farmer’s Market
Shop local at the Homegrown Farmer’s Market this Saturday. As usual, the market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. along Langdon Crescent. You will find all kinds of tasty treats, homemade items, and fresh produce. Be mindful of restricted access, due to construction.
This ‘n That Fall Market
Stop by the market at First Free Methodist Church on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will be lots of great items, including handmade crafts and rummage sale items. There will also be a bake table.
Ranch Roping Finals
The Canadian Ranch Roping Association Finals will be held at the Golden Mile Arena on Saturday at 8 a.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. Approximately 70 teams are expected to compete. Admission is free. Come on out and cheer on your favourite teams!
Walk for Life
The annual Walk for Life will be held on Saturday. Participants are asked to meet at Victory Church at 10 a.m. The walk will start at 10:30. You do not need to make a pledge to join the walk. Afterward, everyone will meet back at Victory Church where pizza and prizes will be available.
Habitat for Humanity Colour Run
Habitat for Humanity will hold its fourth annual Colour Run on Saturday at 11 a.m. Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m. The opening ceremonies will be held at 10:45 just prior to the start of the race. There will be several colour stations along the 5 km route. Hot dogs and burgers will be available on site. Funds will help build another Habitat project in Moose Jaw.
Dungeons and Dragons Meet-Up
The Moose Jaw Gamers Association invites you to attend a D&D session this Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Public Library. Bring your own Adventure League character or build one. Volunteers will be on hand to assist. This program is for ages 16 and up. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Copies of the Player’s Handbook will be available for reference.
Films for Friends
Moose Jaw Families for Change will once again offer its popular Films for Friends series this Saturday. You’re invited to a screening of the Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore at the Kinsmen Inclusion Centre at 1 p.m. The cost is $5 and includes popcorn. Proceeds will go to Hunger in Moose Jaw.
Ugly Dolls Film Screening
Looking for a fun, family outing that won’t break the bank? Stop by the Moose Jaw Public Library at 2:30 on Saturday for a screening of the 2019 animated film, Ugly Dolls. The event is open to all ages and no registration is required.
Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers Fundraiser
Moose Jaw’s Grandmothers 4 Grandmothers group will hold a charity steak night at the Crushed Can on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $20/person. Proceeds will HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa. The group is part of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, a registered charity.
Murder She Steeped
Looking for a fun night out? Stop by A Little Prairie Charm team room on Saturday at 6 p.m. for a special murder mystery event. Show up in costume and in character to find out the whole story. Tickets are $50 each. Call 306-620-9727 for more information.
Jack Semple In Concert
Famed guitarist Jack Semple will perform at Cask 82 on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available online for $25 each. Doors open at 5 p.m.
Terry Fox Run
Moose Jaw’s Terry Fox Run will be held on Sunday at Elks Field (1600 Caribou St. West). Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. with the run starting at 11:30. There will be a post-run BBQ. It is free for run participants. There will also be a bouncy castle and games for kids.
Superheroes of the River Program
The Moose Jaw Nature Society invites you down to Kinsmen Wellesley Pavilion in Wakamow for a fun and educational afternoon. The program will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. You will get a chance to see the insects in and out of the water. Please bring rubber boots or good hiking boots. Note that the program is subject to cancellation in case of inclement weather.
