You will find lots of fun activities in and around Moose Jaw and area this weekend. The following list highlights some events you won’t want to miss out on.

The Scotties

Once again, the Scotties are in Moose Jaw! The Canadian women’s curling championship is wrapping up its run at Mosaic Place this weekend. Playoff games will be on Saturday at 1 and 6 p.m. The action continues on Sunday with the semi-final at 11 a.m., followed by the final at 6 p.m. More information is available online.

In addition to great curling action, there is also the HeartStop Lounge, which will be home to autograph sessions and live entertainment.

Darts Tournament

The Moose Jaw Elks Lodge No. 7 will hold their Memorial Darts Tournament on Saturday at the Legion. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Games start at 10 and will run throughout the day. The cost is $30 per team and there is a limit of 20 teams. A lunch will be available. Proceeds will go to the Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children, in memory of Ed Goertzen. Farmer’s Market

To coincide with the Scotties, the Moose Jaw Homegrown Farmer’s Market will be set up at the Heritage Inn on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will be able to find all kinds of unique, handmade and homegrown items. Shop local!

Dungeons and Dragons Meet-Up

The Moose Jaw Gamers Association invites you to attend a D&D session this Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Moose Jaw Public Library. Bring your own Adventure League character or build one. Volunteers will be on hand to assist. This program is for ages 16 and up. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Copies of the Player’s Handbook will be available for reference.  

Knitting Meetup at MJPL

An all-ages knitting meetup will be held at the Moose Jaw Public Library on Saturday at 2 p.m. Bring a project with you or feel free to start something new. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow knitters and to socialize.

Town and Country Singles Dance

It will be another great night of dancing! The Town and Country Singles Dance will be held on Saturday from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Church of Our Lady Community Centre. Band: Len Gadica. Married couples are welcome! The cost is $15 and that includes a lunch. Call 306-691-6634 for more information.

ACF Ice Fishing Tournament

The Association communautaire fransaskoise de Moose Jaw will hold its annual ice fishing tournament at Buffalo Pound on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. No experience or equipment needed, as volunteers will be on site to lend a hand. There are prizes to be won. Anyone over the age of 16 must have a Fishing Licence. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for kids.
