The Empire Apartments building is finally coming down, after being delayed for nearly seven months. This morning, on July 19, crews have been given the go-ahead and are on scene to finish the building’s demolition.
The building caught fire on December 21, 2022, and all occupants were safely evicted. During the firefight, three firefighters suffered minor injuries with one being released from hospital later that day.
The building is located at the corner of Caribou St. and Fourth Avenue Northwest.
