Sun finally shines to close out the Hometown Fair

A photo gallery from the midway of this year's Hometown Fair.

Although the weekend began a little cloudy, the annual Hometown Fair saw some sun on the midway for its last day of fun.

The Fair kicked off with its usual parade down Main Street on the evening of June 20, despite the rain making folks uneasy most of the afternoon.

The following three days boasted a ton of exciting activities, from the midway to stunt dogs and motorcycles. Everything you could want from a fair was here in Moose Jaw: rides, delicious food, carnival games, and even a circus act for entertainment.

The rides lining the Exhibition Grounds were busy as ever — especially once the sun came out — with people of all ages lining up to strap into the Ferris Wheel, swings, and other loopy, spinning, dropping contraptions.

Inside the Convention Centre was paintless paintball, which featured chalk rather than paint, and the Golden Nugget Centre became home to all kinds of reptiles from the Safari Jeff show.

Flying pups from the Canine Stars Dog Show impressed the audience with their agility, proving why they made it to fifth place on the show America’s Got Talent.

Unfortunately, the Light Horse Show meant to take place on June 22 and 23 was canceled, due to weather concerns, but the Mounted Shooting Competition went along as planned, with over 50 competitors from all over North America showing off their skills with a revolver.

The rest of the weekend brought in a crowd, and the Moose Jaw Exhibition Company can put another successful Hometown Fair in the books.
