The Moose Jaw Giants are still in the thick of things in Rambler Park Fastball League playoff action.

The local squad battled to a 4-3 victory over Standing Buffalo in their first ‘B’ side contest on Tuesday night, advancing to the semifinal on Thursday.

There, they’ll take on the Golden Hawks for the right to advance to the ‘B’ final and the league’s championship weekend, taking place all day Saturday at Kaplan Field in Regina.

The Hawks defeated the Regina Gold 10-2 in the other semifinal.

As has been the case with each of their playoff opponents so far, the Giants have seen a bit of the good and a bit of the bad against Golden, having dropped a 6-3 decision in their first meeting back on July 13 in Regina but rebounding with a 7-0 win in the rematch on Aug. 4 at Lyle Helland Ball Diamond.

With a win in the ‘B’ semi, the Giants will advance to take on the loser of the ‘A’ final between the Moose Jaw Canadians and Earl Grey Rockets. The Canadians earned their spot in that contest with a 4-2 victory over the Hawks back on Sept. 2.

Things will wrap up for the season with the ‘A’ final at 11 a.m. on Saturday, ‘B’ final at 1:30 p.m. and championship game at 4 p.m.
