Saskatchewan has only two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province, bringing the total to an even 300 cases so far. There are no longer any presumptive cases, as they have now been confirmed.
Another 14 recoveries are being reported, bringing the provincial total to 178, showing more recoveries than the 130 cases considered active.
One more individual has been hospitalized for a total of eight in the province, none of which are in intensive care. Four deaths have been reported, with the last occurring on April 11.
Of the total cases in the province, 131 are travel-related, 120 are community or household transmission related, 27 have no known exposures, and 22 are still under investigation by Public Health.
One more health care worker has been confirmed with COVID-19, for 33 health care workers infected in the province. Public health officials can’t determine whether exposure to the virus took place in a health care situation.
Saskatoon now has 147 cases, while Regina has 65 cases, the northern parts of the province have 63 cases, the central region has 10 cases, and the south region has 15 cases.
To date, 19,804 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province.
Public health has issued a reminder that all producers and agriculture industry partners must adhere to public health and safety guidelines to help stop the transmission of respiratory illnesses.
This includes abiding by mandatory isolation following travel outside of Canada, practicing social distancing and regular hand-washing measures, and frequent disinfection of shared surfaces and items including vehicles, tools, and more.
