The Moose Jaw Adult Dodgeball League (MJADL) is now accepting registrations for the upcoming dodgeball league that will start in February, in partnership with Golden Ticket Sports Centre.

“We will need a minimum of four teams to (be able to) go ahead (starting the league) so that we have opponents to play against with different teams,” MJADL organizer Kayla Triffo said. “I play consistently for Regina in the women’s league but right now it’s hard to find players who are motivated to play in Moose Jaw.”

Golden Ticket Sports Centre, Sask Polytechnic and Vanier College are the following venues selected for the league games. Each season will consist of 12 weeks of play that includes a pre-week season (scores will not count), one week for playoffs and 10 weeks for regular season games.

Each team must have a co-ed team made up of seven to 10 player rosters. Teams must have at least two women out of six players during a game. During a game, teams can request other teams for substitute players if they do not have any female players

All teams must have a team captain. Captains must be present during captains’ meeting nights to pass on information to their respective teams and collect team dodgeballs. These meetings will be held one week before the season starts.

All teams need to provide one referee per assigned game and one GT staff member will also be assigned for every game. Captains must email GT before any game if they are unable to provide a referee before that game.

During a game, teams are only allowed to have two sub-players per team. If a team has only four players, then that team must forfeit the game and their opponent will get a walk-over.

There are two ways registrations can be made. Registrations can be done individually or as a whole team. Each team registration is only $550.

Individual registrations are free until a team is assigned to them. After a team has been assigned, the individual player will have to pay a registration fee of $40-$55 depending on the number of players they have in their team.

More information about MJADL can be found on their Facebook page (MJ Adult Dodgeball Powered by Golden Ticket Sports Centre).
