MOOSE JAW – The City of Moose Jaw advises that Phase 10 of the Infrastructure Renewal Program (including water main replacement) is progressing as the project reaches week nine.
Phase 10 will include the replacement of approximately 1.4 kilometres of cast iron pipe and 700 metres of feeder main at the following locations:
- Coteau Street West from 8th Avenue SW to 4th Avenue S.W.
- 6th Avenue S.W. from Coteau Street W. to Grandview Street W.
- 4th Avenue SW from Coteau Street W. to Duffield Street
- Fairford Street W. from Main Street N to 4th Avenue N.W.
Construction continues on Fairford Street West. The 0 block of Fairford and the intersection of Fairford Street West and 1st Avenue N.W. has reopened, however, the 3rd Avenue N.W. intersection will be closing on Monday, July 7. Additionally, the 100 and 200 blocks of Fairford Street W, and the intersection at 2nd Avenue N.W., remain closed to traffic until further notice.
Also, sidewalks remain open to pedestrians, and the City reminds residents that all area businesses remain open during construction and access will be available via sidewalks and temporary walkways.
Crews are working at 4th Avenue S.W .from Duffield Street to Coteau Street West. The intersection of Coteau Street and 4th Avenue S.W. remains closed, but the Duffield Street intersection is open. Contractors are also working at 5th Avenue S.W. from Grandview Street to Coteau Street, and the Grandview Street and Duffield Street intersections remain closed.
In addition, work is underway on Coteau Street West from 4th Avenue S.W. to 5th Avenue S.W., with the 4th Avenue S.W. intersection currently closed, and the 5th Avenue S.W. intersection remaining open until a later date.
Westmount route No. 4 bus stops on Duffield Street W at 5th Avenue S.W. and 4th Avenue S.W. remain closed. Additionally, east and west-bound stops at Coteau Street West and 4th Avenue S.W. will be closed. Please read bus stop signage in these locations to find the next closest available stop.
Drivers are reminded to obey all temporary traffic signage and exercise caution in construction zones to keep everyone safe. No more #NotoriouslyClose calls.
